The Gaps Between Interior Design And Architecture
A building has many facets to it and there are various things that a person has to understand. All buildings have the need for various kinds of people who are also involved in building the house. Some of the major groups of people who are involved in the design and also in the building process are professionals like interior design consultants who are mainly involved in the process of the interior design art. Other people like the architects who are part of development of architecture styles and designs are also part of the architecture.
There are various kinds of building styles and each professional who is actually involved in the process of building that particular part needs to be very careful that they do not do the other persons job. One of the roles that can actually have a very thin line between the professions is that of the architect who designs and styles the building with that of the interior design consultants who are mainly concerned with the interior design art. The factor that should be understood is that there is such a thin line between these two professions that there often seems to be conflict.
Each of these professionals has their own kind of work and they also have their own licensing bodies. On the other hand, the interior design consultants can be said to be only involved in the interior design art and have nothing to do with the design of the outside. The architects who are in charge of actually building the structure also have a role to play in the construction of the interior of the building. It is in this phase that the difference of opinion occurs. The interior design of the building should also be planned by the architect as part of the initial planning of the house or building. The interior designer on the other hand should only be involved in the addition of design and art to the building that has been completed.
A particular guideline for each of the professional groups on their roles that are clearly specified will help to clear the air and help maintain professionalism and prevent chances of conflict!
